Yusuke Shigeta
神奈川県在住。メディアアーティスト。フェナキストスコープやゾートロープをはじめとする「広義のアニメーション」への関心を起点に、メディアアートの領域で活動している。デジタルのピクセルを、仮想世界と実世界の接合点として捉え、映像やデジタル表現を空間的な体験へと展開してきた。近年は、デジタル表現に「物質としての時間性」を持たせることに関心を寄せ、物質と情報、連続と非連続のあいだを行き来する表現を探っている。
主な展覧会に、個展「しかくいけしき」（奈良市美術館/2026、ふなばしアンデルセン公園子ども美術館、春日井市民ギャラリー/2022）、個展「連続と非連続の汀で」（Otherwise Gallery/2026）、「“ちり” も積もれば世界をかえる」（日本科学未来館/2021）、「キラキラ、ざわざわ、ハラハラ展」（横須賀美術館/2014）、「オープンスペース2011」（ICC/2011） など。

Based in Kanagawa, Japan, Yusuke Shigeta is a media artist whose practice grew out of an interest in "animation in a broad sense," including early optical devices such as the phenakistoscope and zoetrope. He views the digital pixel as a point of connection between the virtual and the physical worlds, and has developed video and digital expressions into immersive, spatial experiences. In recent years, he has been exploring ways of giving digital expression a "material sense of temporality," moving between matter and information, continuity and discontinuity.
Major exhibitions include the solo exhibition "a VIEW in the SQUARE" (Nara City Museum of Art, 2026 / Funabashi Andersen Park Children's Museum of Art and Cultural Forum Kasugai, 2022), the solo exhibition "Continuous and Discontinuous of Migiwa" (Otherwise Gallery, 2026), "A Grain of Dust Changes the World" (Miraikan – The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation, 2021), "Sparkling, Buzzing, and Suspenseful" (Yokosuka Museum of Art, 2014), and "Open Space 2011" (NTT InterCommunication Center [ICC], 2011), among others.
