Yusuke Shigeta
神奈川県在住。メディアアーティスト。フェナキストスコープやゾートロープをはじめとする”広義のアニメーション”への関心を起点に、メディアアート領域で活動。デジタルのピクセルを仮想世界と実世界を繋ぐ接合点として捉え、空間的に鑑賞・体験する大型インスタレーション映像を制作。近年はデジタル表現にいかにして”物質としての時間性”を与えられるかに関心を寄せている。
主な展覧会に「オープンスペース2011」（ICC / 2011）、 「キラキラ、ざわざわ、ハラハラ展」（横須賀美術館 / 2014）、 「“ちり” も積もれば世界をかえる」（日本科学未来館 / 2021）、 個展「しかくいけしき」（春日井市民ギャラリー、ふなばしアンデルセン公園子ども美術館 / 2022、奈良市美術館 / 2026）、 個展「連続と非連続の汀で」（Otherwise Gallery / 2026）など。

Based in Kanagawa, Japan, the artist works in the field of media art. Their practice begins with an interest in "animation in the expanded sense"—encompassing devices such as the phenakistiscope and zoetrope—and engages with moving image culture. They treat digital pixels as an interface connecting virtual and physical worlds, creating large-scale video installations to be experienced spatiality. Recently, their focus has turned toward how digital expression can be endowed with a "material temporality."
Major exhibitions include "Open Space 2011" (NTT InterCommunication Center [ICC], 2011), "Sparkling, Rustling, and Heart-fluttering" (Yokosuka Museum of Art, 2014), "A Grain of Dust Changes the World" (Miraikan – The National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation, 2021), the solo exhibition "a VIEW in the SQUARE" (Kasugai City Gallery and Funabashi Andersen Park Children's Museum, 2022 / Nara City Museum of Art, 2026), and the solo exhibition "Continuous and Discontinuous of Migiwa" (Otherwise Gallery, 2026), among others.
