さまざまな妖怪を描いたピクセル百鬼夜行のアニメーションです。盆踊り会場の櫓（やぐら）に仕込まれたプロジェクターから、床に向けて映像が投影されています。会場に流れる音楽に合わせて踊る無数の妖怪たちを、白いお盆型のスクリーンで鑑賞していきます。特殊なマットで床には映像が映っていないため、櫓の周りをぐるぐると回る鑑賞者だけが存在するような奇妙な光景が作り出されます。「荒俣宏の妖怪伏魔殿 2020 YOKAI PANDEMONIUM」（角川武蔵野ミュージアム／所沢市）にて制作・公開しました。所沢にキャンパスを持つ日本大学芸術学部デザイン科の学生が制作協力として参加し、ピクセルの妖怪の一部を制作しています。またメインの妖怪やグランドデザインはピクセルアーティストの服部グラフィクス氏が手掛けています。
This pixel animation of the Hyakki Yagyou ("Night Parade of One Hundred Demons") depicts various supernatural creatures from Japanese folklore. A projector installed on the yagura wooden scaffolding of the Bon Festival dance venue projects an animation down toward the floor. On a white tray-shaped screen (the "Bon" in "Bon Festival" means "tray"), attendees can watch countless youkai creatures dancing to music playing at the venue. A special non-reflecting mat creates a strange sight where viewers revolving around the yagura scaffolding are the only ones who exist. The exhibition was produced at "YOKAI PANDEMONIUM 2020" and released at the Kadokawa Culture Museum (Tokorozawa). Students from the Department of Design at Nihon University, which has a Tokorozawa campus, helped produce some of the pixel youkai. The main youkai and grand design of the work were done by the pixel artist Hattori-Graphics.
