A series of works featuring animals rendered with "PETSCII"—an early computer character set—and engraved onto natural stones. The depictions of animals draw inspiration from ancient cave paintings. Humankind once generated symbols from pictorial images, yet with the advent of computers, we began using those very symbols to create iconic imagery once more. Concrete, tactile imagery versus abstract, conceptual symbols—humanity has sought to comprehend the world by navigating back and forth between these two realms, both physically and historically. "Stone," the oldest media and an emblem of the concrete, alongside the "computer," an operational device for abstract thought. Through these two contrasting tools, this series reenacts the trajectories of that historical and physical movement.
