Participated in the exhibition "art bit #6: Game Playing Society" held at Hotel Anteroom Kyoto. Presented in collaboration with BitSummit, one of Japan's largest indie game festivals, this exhibition crossed the boundaries between contemporary art and indie games. Centered on the theme of re-examining how game structures and experiences connect to society, I exhibited the Echoes of the Electric Coast series featuring pixels carved into stone. Incorporating text probabilistically generated by AI from images of natural stone, the work reinterprets today's black-boxed systems as a "giant die." Through the lens of Homo Ludens—finding play in uncertain rules—the piece was presented as a model of contemporary society where reality and the virtual intersect.

“Echoes of the Electric Coast” is a series of stones collected from the shore, each engraved with pixel art.The images are based on texts generated by AI, using each stone’s shape, color, and pattern as cues.
The forms and textures of the stones have been shaped over long periods by waves, wind, friction, and pressure. They carry traces of time produced by nature, layered with countless contingencies. In parallel, the texts generated by AI are also singular combinations selected through probabilistic fluctuation— one possibility, improvised from an ocean of information.
“The shape of the stone” and “the words of AI”are both filled with chance, yet they are not mere randomness. What emerges is a pattern within fluctuation—multiple singular occurrences.Through the act of making, the artist encounters these two kinds of chance and reconnects them as points.
It is like the face of a vast die cast in the interval between matter and information,a marker through which unknown worlds are rewoven beyond efficiency or purpose. That marker slowly shifts through time, perhaps quietly carried once again toward another, as yet unseen, someone.
